<strong>Cassandra Paula-Irene Tiffin, eleven month old  daughter of Robert and Stacey R. Stearns Tiffin, died at 10:07 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012 in the Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born October 10, 2011 in St. Louis, Missouri.</strong>

The Alto Pass Fire Department and the Jonesboro Fire Department are planning to have a fund raiser  Saturday, Sept. 8, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Alto Vineyards in Alto Pass.

The event is being billed as “The Southern Illinois Wine-Shine.”

Local volunteer firefighters will be hosting Tim Smith and Tickle, stars of “The Moonshiners” on The Discovery Channel.

The local band DiamondBack is scheduled to perform.

The event also will feature food served by both fire departments.

Southern Illinois Hunting and Fishing Days are planned Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22-23, at John A. Logan College in Carterville.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the event.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Southern Illinois Hunting and Fishing Days include a wide range of activities for those of all ages.

Among the many highlights are wildlife programs, seminars, an art and heritage show, bluegrass music, goose and duck calling, youth goose calling, activities for children and food.

<strong>Mr. James Lee Roy Jones, age 48 of Dongola, died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 in the Jonesboro Rehab and Healthcare Center in Jonesboro. He was born June 1, 1964 in Carbondale, the son of Lee Roy and Shirley George Jones.</strong>
