‘Wine-Shine’ will support fire departments

The Alto Pass Fire Department and the Jonesboro Fire Department are planning to have a fund raiser  Saturday, Sept. 8, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Alto Vineyards in Alto Pass.

The event is being billed as “The Southern Illinois Wine-Shine.”

Local volunteer firefighters will be hosting Tim Smith and Tickle, stars of “The Moonshiners” on The Discovery Channel.

The local band DiamondBack is scheduled to perform.

The event also will feature food served by both fire departments.

Admission will be $15. Proceeds will benefit both of the Union County fire departments.
