Union County Sheriff David Livesay and Union County State’s Attorney Tyler Edmonds invite the community to attend a free event which is planned Thursday, March 27, at Anna-Jonesboro Community High School.
The event is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the auditorium at the school. Admission is free.
(The event originally had been scheduled for Thursday, March 6, but was postponed due to bad weather.)
Livesay and Edmonds plan to join a number of presenters at "Mixing It Up: Underage Drinking, Drugs & Parties, What You May Not Know."
Special Olympics Illinois crowned its state champions at a state basketball tournament which was played March 14-16.
Athletes from the Union County area were among those those who received honors at the tournament.
The tournament was played at Illinois State University’s Horton Field House in Normal and Illinois Wesleyan University’s Shirk Center in Bloomington.
More than 1,600 athletes competed on 132 teams and in individual skills competition at the tournament.
Jack Eddleman, 77, of Dongola, died at on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born April 15, 1936 in Dongola, son of Harry and Nellie Staten Eddleman. Jack married Jacquie Kimber on June 15, 1957, she preceded him in death on Aug. 2, 2013.
