Robert “Bob” D. Haley

Mr. Robert “Bob” D. Haley, age 70 of Bowling Green, Kentucky, formerly of Anna, died at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in Sacred Heart Hospital in Destin, Florida. He was born January 19, 1944 in Chicago, the son of Robert Harold and Edna Mae Davis Haley. In most recent years Bob lived in Bowling Green, KY and Miramar Beach, Florida. He married Kay Kollehner on June 19, 1965 at the Kornthal Lutheran Church in Jonesboro.

A-J’s season ends with regional loss

Murphysboro avenged an earlier season loss to Anna-Jonesboro with a 64-46 win in the IHSA boys’ basketball Class 2A regional hosted by the Wildcats Friday, Feb. 28.

“They attacked us a little bit better this time,” A-J coach Mike Chamness said. “They did a much better job of penetrating.”

After controlling the opening tip, Jay Kemp, Zach Parr and Noah Prater each scored a basket to give the Wildcats a 6-5 lead. It would be the last lead they would hold.

Lucille Mayberry

Lucille Mayberry, 96, of Tamms, died at 2:55PM on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born March 3, 1917 in Mississippi County, MO, daughter of Fred and Annie Sharp Miller. She married Montdean Mayberry in 1934, he preceded her in death in 1974.

Lucille was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses for more than 40 years. Her pride at home was her rose garden. Lucille loved to travel extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada, even climbing Mt. Ranier.
