Mr. Roy Delano Bridgeman, age 77 of rural Anna, died at 12:07 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at his home. He was born July 14, 1936 in Anna, the son of Leo J. and Vergie Williams Bridgeman.
Roy is survived by his son, Roger Bridgeman of Anna; two daughters, Linda Hammond of Quincy, IL, Lois Brooks of Cobden; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Holbert Bridgeman of Kansas City, KS; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Ross Bridgeman.
Lincoln Elementary School in Anna hosted a special Family Reading Night on Thursday, May 1. The theme for the event was "Down on the Farm."
A wide range of activities were available for children and their families.
Stories which focused on the farm were featured. Children were able to complete a series of special activities and then take home a free book which was related to farming.
Mr. John Michael Spiess, age 65 of Anna, died at 1:42 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at his home. He was born May 11, 1948 in Chicago, the son of John Spiess Sr and Lucille Gigliello. He married Alisa Lange on June 15, 1983 in Marion, IL.
