Cobden baseball improves to 15-6 with five victories

The Cobden High School baseball team has won five games in recent action.

Cobden 3, Zeigler-Royalton-Christopher 2: Parker Flamm was 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the visiting Appleknockers to the win Friday, April 25, in a nine-inning game.

Logan Spalt was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Tyler Lewey was 1-for-3. Dylan Duty was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Jacob Furlow was 1-for-4.

Zach Moore was the winning pitcher with a three-hitter to go with 9 strikeouts and a walk.

Cobden 21, Cairo 0: Spalt tossed a two-hitter and had five strikeouts to lead visiting Cobden to the win Thursday, April 24.

Duty was 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs to lead Cobden at the plate. Spalt was 2-for-3 with 5 RBIs. J.T. Moore was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs. Flamm was 1-for-1 with 3 RBIs.

Cobden 9, Vienna 3:Flamm was 4-for-5 with an RBI to lead visiting Cobden to the win Wednesday, April 23.

Spalt was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Duty was 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs. Zach Moore was 2-for-4.

Flamm allowed 4 hits in 4 innings and had 5 strikeouts. Zach Moore pitched 3 innings and allowed a hit to go with 5 strikeouts.

Cobden 18, Egyptian 0: J.T. Moore pitched a no-hitter at home Tuesday, April 22 and had nine strikeouts.

Spalt was 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs to lead the Appleknockers’ hitting. J.T. Moore was 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs. Brandon Shields was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Zach Moore was 1-for-1 with 2 RBIs. Furlow was 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs.

Cobden 9, Goreville 1: Flamm was 2-for-2 with an RBI to lead host Cobden to the win Thursday, April 17.

Lewey was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs. Spalt was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs. J.T. Moore was 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs. Keegan Tripp was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Duty was 1-for-4.

Flamm was the winning pitcher, scattering 4 hits to go with 6 strikeouts.

Cobden, 15-6, is scheduled to host the Appleknocker Invitational this Saturday.
