<p class="p1">Oaths of office for Union County officials were administered Monday morning. The ceremony took place at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro. Officials who were elected in November took their oaths of office. The oaths were administered by Union County Judge Mark Boie. From left are Union County Clerk Terry Bartruff, Union County Treasurer Darren Bailey, Judge Boie, Union County Sheriff Scott Harvel and Union County Commissioner Bobby Toler Jr. </p>

<p class="p1">Plans are being considered for the development of a Dollar General store in Cobden. The store would be located on what is now used as a parking area along old U.S. Route 51 in the Union County village.</p>
