Wildcat wrestlers open season
<p class="p1">The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School wrestling team competed in a triangular meet at Carterville to open its season Tuesday, Dec. 2.</p><p class="p1">Following are A-J results with winning grapplers listed first:</p><p class="p1"><strong>Benton 53, A-J 24</strong></p><p class="p1">106 pounds: Aiden Frick won by forfeit.</p><p class="p1">132 pounds: Lexy Macy won by forfeit.</p><p class="p1">138 pounds; Austin Hoekstra pinned Ian McMahan in :48.</p><p class="p1">220 pounds: Nick Harvel pinned Alex Longfellow in 1:11.</p><p class="p1"><strong>Carterville 60, A-J 18</strong></p><p class="p1">113 pounds: Paul Hileman won by forfeit.</p><p class="p1">126 pounds; Leny Kissell pinned Clayton Virgo in 5:11.</p><p class="p1">The Wildcats are scheduled to compete Saturday in the Benton duals.</p>
