Wildcat wrestlers honored

Anna-Jonesboro’s Mitchell Holshouser and Dustin Young have been  selected to the Southern Illinois Coaches Association All-South Class 1A high school wrestling team.

Holshouser, a senior, was selected to the first team.

He finished with a 28-7 overall mark and was a state qualifier twice to become only the second in school history to record that achievement. He was selected to the first team.

He finished first at the Lawrenceville Tournament, first at the regionals and third at sectionals.

He was a two-year captain for the Wildcats.

Young, a senior, was selected as a member of the at-large squad.

He finished with a 28-8 overall mark and won the leadership award three consecutive years, as well as being team captain for three years.

He was first at the Lawrenceville tourney, first at regionals and second in the conference.
