Why Tuesday Night is the Best Night to Watch Television

source="befa1e4136fcca3115eec1d9280d63b6.jpg"

I don’t know about you, but because life is so nuts sometimes, I don’t watch television on a regular basis. But I have set aside one night where I don’t go anywhere, I don’t have anyone come over and my phone is on silent because it is non-stop, eyes glued to the television Tuesday.

I discovered non-stop, eyes glued to the television Tuesday with the mini-series Agent Carter, my personal favorite. The Marvel universe is on fire as of now and no force can stop it. Marvel has other shows on the small screen, including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but Agent Carter is something completely different for television period, not just the Marvel universe.

If you have no idea who Agent Carter is, here’s the background. Captain America: The First Avenger, was released in 2011. Steve Rogers wants to be in the military desperately, but is not healthy or strong enough to get in. Until one day, a scientist gives him a serum that modifies his body and he becomes the super-solider Captain America. Agent Peggy Carter, played by Hayley Atwell, who is also involved in the military, assists Captain America in his confidence and they eventually fall in love.

(SPOILER ALERT!!!) At the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America dies while saving the world and Agent Carter is left alone with the war over.

After the war, she works for the Strategic Scientific Reserve and is viewed as a secretary to the male-dominated office, even though she has a decorated military background.

In the first episode, Howard Stark, who is a weapons manufacturer and helped Captain America and Agent Carter in the Captain America movie, (also Iron Man’s father,) is framed and asked Agent Carter to help him, without letting the Strategic Scientific Reserve knowing.

All and all, this is a character on television that all women and men alike should look up to. She shows her cleverness, intelligence and strength to clear a man’s name that she believes is innocent. Agent Carter is on ABC on Tuesday’s at 8 p.m.

Parks and Recreation is also another fantastic choice to watch on Tuesday nights. Alas, it’s in its final season, so unless you have seen previous episode’s you might be lost. But I haven’t seen the season prior to this one and I’m still following along. You can watch past episodes on Netflix.

Amy Poehler plays Leslie Knope in the documentary style comedy. Leslie is pro-government and is currently going out of her way to make a vacant piece of land a national park. Her antics of getting her way makes her hilarious along with the rest of the cast.

It has the comedic humor like 30 Rock and the filming style of The Office. It also features Chris Pratt from Guardians of the Galaxy and Nick Offerman from We’re The Millers. Parks and Recreation is on NBC at 7 p.m.

Another series that I make a point to watch is Pretty Little Liars. I have to personally say that this series has dragged on a little too long. (SPOILER ALERT!!!) The thought of Allison coming back and Mona being murdered is getting a little far fetched and scandalous for ABC Family, but I HAVE TO FIND OUT WHO ‘A’ IS!

{{tncms-asset app="editorial" id="072c4116-a648-11e4-9578-3b0c685ff1ce"}}

Here’s the background: Four friends are devastated when one of their friends, Allison, has gone missing and is presumed murdered. Throughout the course of Allison being gone, a mysterious character named ‘A’ sabotage’s the girls lives and frames them for many things they didn’t do and lets them know of things they have done that they don’t want anyone to know about.

Again, if you have never seen this series before, you will be completely lost, but you can watch past episodes on Netflix. The drama of the murder mystery is very intriguing and unlike other series with the same vibe, you do learn something new about who killed who and who kidnapped who in every episode, though it usually comes with more questions attached.

Pretty Little Liars is on ABC Family at 7 p.m. This is the same time as Parks and Recreation, but they rerun the same episode at 9 p.m., after Agent Carter.
