<p class="p1">Virginia Louise Stilley, 77, of Virden, formerly of rural Sadorus, died at 2:37 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at her residence.</p><p class="p1">Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the First Baptist Church of Champaign, in Savoy. </p><p class="p1">Burial was in the Lewis Cemetery in rural Tuscola.</p><p class="p1">She was born on Dec. 7, 1937, in Balcom, the daughter of Ward Owen and Minnie Lee Smoot Woodard.</p><p class="p1">She married Richard D. Stilley on Oct. 6, 1956, in Anna. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2012.</p><p class="p1">Survivors include her two sons, Ronald Owen Stilley and wife Dianne of Cordova, Tennessee, and Michael Carl Stilley and wife Jan of Lino Lakes, Minnesota; a daughter Sheila Louise Jessen and husband Chad of Virden; grandchildren Carmen Louise (Leighton) Cline, Ian Scott Goulden, Kiana Jae Stilley and Jaedyn Elise Stilley; a great-grandson, Keenan Jerod Cline; two sisters, Marcia Treece of Anna and Patricia Meadows of West Frankfort.</p><p class="p1">She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James Woodard, Ward Jay Woodard and Troy Lee Woodard; and her sister, Kedron Boyer.</p><p class="p1">She graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in 1955, where she was salutatorian. She had previously worked at the Anna National Bank and the Tuscola National Bank. She retired on Dec. 31, 1997, from the Douglas County office of the Illinois Department of Human Services, where she worked as a case worker for 33 years.</p><p class="p1">She was a member of the Chatham Baptist Church in Chatham, and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Champaign in Savoy.</p><p class="p1">She liked singing and was a soprano soloist at church services, including weddings and funerals, and was a choir member. She had major roles in three plays at the Villa Grove Community Theatre. She liked playing the piano and had been a church pianist at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Tuscola.
