Union County property tax bills scheduled to be mailed in June

Union County property taxes are scheduled to be out early this year.

Union County Treasurer Bobby G. Myers said taxes are scheduled to be mailed around June 22.

Approximately 12,000 bills will be mailed.

The first installment of tax payments will be due on July 23. The second installment will be due Sept. 23.

Taxes can be paid at the treasurer's office and at local banks. The treasurer's office is located at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro.

Myers noted that the anticipated mailing date is the earliest he's ever seen.

The early mailing date is attributed to preparation work done by the offices of the county treasurer, county assessor and county clerk, Myers said.

Myers said that mobile home taxes are scheduled to be mailed around June 8. The bills are due Aug. 10.
