Susie Imogene Mayberry
Susie Imogene Mayberry, 82, formerly of Anna, passed away at 1:39 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at her daughter’s residence in Green Valley.
Born September 27, 1926 in Holcomb, Missouri to Raymond and Mamie A. (Meyers) Trout, she married Rev. Charles Mayberry on March 11, 1949 in Jonesboro. He died April 11, 2009 in Anna. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Erma J. (Melvin) Cooksey of Green Valley; one son, Charles R. (Rori) Mayberry of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren, LaBreeska (Marcus) Hailey of Galena, Kansas, Sgt. Brad Cooksey of San Antonio, Texas, Rochelle Mayberry of Cleveland, Tennessee, Pvt. Lance Mayberry of West Point, New York and Blake Mayberry of Cincinnati, Ohio; one great-grandson, Noah Hailey; three brothers, Raymond (Vera) Trout of Alhambra, Vernon (Melba) Trout of Bowling Green, Kentucky and William (Sue Ann) Trout of Olive Branch and five sisters, Mavis (Herbert) Wilson of Troy, Mildred (James) Austin of Hillsboro, Missouri, Linda (James) Hardin of Tennessee, Brenda (Jerry) Davis of Fredericktown, Missouri and Carolyn A. (Ron) Thorn of Makanda.
Susie was a homemaker.
She was a member of Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle in Jonesboro, where her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Geoffery Bond will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home in Pekin, and also one hour before the funeral Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Valley Mission Cemetery near Jonesboro.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Elco Pentecostal Campground in care of Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle, P.O. Box 24, Jonesboro, IL 62952.
