Summer time…
. . .and the living is easy. Well, that’s the way the song goes.
It’s hard to believe that summer is about halfway over. We’re in the middle of July, and summer ball seasons are wrapping up, which means parents will get a bit of a break, at least before it’s time for football and soccer and various other fall sports.
Young people may be looking at the calendar, too, and wondering how many more things they can do before the much-anticipated start of a new school year.
No doubt, the rest of July will pass by rather quickly. August’s arrival will bring with it the 2009 editions of the Cobden Peach Festival and the Union County Fair in Anna. Make plans to attend those events which are such an important part of the Union County calendar.
In the meantime, enjoy the rest of summer. Go to the Anna Pool. Visit one of our local libraries and pick up a good book or two. Check out one of our parks, or the Shawnee National Forest. Stop by one of our farmers’ markets and pick up some fresh, home-grown produce; nothing tastes better. Remember, it’s summer time, and the living is easy.
