Subscription drive helps Bald Knob Cross

The Gazette-Democrat has made a donation to help with restoration and repair work needed for the landmark Cross of Peace atop Bald Knob Mountain near Alto Pass. Jerry L. Reppert, publisher of The Gazette-Democrat, presented a $500 check to members of the Friends of the Cross board. The funds were generated as the result of a subscription promotion sponsored by the newspaper. The Friends of the Cross is working to raise $300,000 for repair of the Cross of Peace.
