St. Vincent, The Black Keys, draws big crowd for mid-week performance

<p class="p1"><a href="http://ilovestvincent.com/" target="_blank">St. Vincent</a> and <a href="http://www.theblackkeys.com/turnblue" target="_blank">The Black Keys</a> took the stage on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at the <a href="http://www.scottradecenter.com/" target="_blank">Scottrade Center</a> in St. Louis.

<p class="p1">St. Vincent began her career with the alternative group The Polyphonic Spree, but has since gone solo and is currently promoting her newest album, also titled, "St. Vincent."

<p class="p1">Her movement on stage was minimal, but when she did, it was short steps that made her look like she was floating along with robotic type movements. 

<p class="p1">The combination of her synthesizers, guitar and constant drums meshed together well.

<p class="p1">The Black Keys have been making records since 2000. They really hit it big with their album "El Camino" which was released in 2011.

<p class="p1">They are currently promoting their newest album, "Turn Blue," which was released May of 2014.

<p class="p1">They played a few songs on "Turn Blue" including "Weight of Love," and "Fever."

<p class="p1">They also played some of their most popular songs, including "Howlin' For You," "Gold on the Ceiling," "Lonely Boy," and  "Tighten Up."

<p class="p1">The Black Keys, consisting of two members, Dan Auerbach,  guitar and vocals and Patrick Carney, drums, kept up a high energy throughout the performance.

<p class="p1">Auerbach displayed his many guitars, switching guitars for almost every song.

<p class="p1">Carney's worked his psychedelic drums not giving them a break all night.

<p class="p1">After an hour and a half set, the band exited the stage, but the house lights didn't come on. The audience expected an encore. 

<p class="p1">The audience began to yell, scream, clap and stomp the ground, hoping to get the band back on stage for a few more songs.

<p class="p1">Less than half the audience members held their phones with their LED flashlights shining. It illuminated the entire stadium, which has a capacity of over 19,000. 

<p class="p1">Roughly 10,000 people was in the audience.

<p class="p1">The amount of time it took for The Black Keys to get back on the stage was abnormally long. The crowd's cheers began to fade, but still, several remained hoping they would return.

<p class="p1">Finally, the band returned to play two more songs.
