Lady Wildcats track team competes at three recent meets
The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School girls’ track team competed at several recent meets.
Carterville Invitational
The Lady Wildcats finished in 5th place in the Carterville Invitational held Saturday, April 6.
Julia Lasley led A-J with a first place finish in the pole vault with a jump of 10-0.
Addison Osman finished in second place in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.62.
Third place A-J finishes were recorded by Osman in the triple jump with 33-03.75 and Addison Denny in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.99.
Fourth place efforts were recorded by Osman in the high jump with 4-10 effort and Anna Hess in the shot put with 34-02.
Fifth place efforts were recorded by Denny in the 300-meter hurdles in 52.04; Amiyah Hart in the 200-meter dash in 27.67; and Hess in the discus with 90.08.
Carsen Clements finished in sixth place in the 300-meter hurdles in 52.72; Jade Marks in the triple jump with 30-05; and Kristen Edmonds in the 100-meter dash in 13.11.
The A-J girls finished in 5th place with 59 points at the meet.
A-J Wins at Harrisburg
A-J won first place with 60 points at the Harrisburg Open Wednesday, April 3.
First place efforts were recorded by Osman in the triple jump with 31-8 and the 100-meter hurdles in 15.4 for a school record; Hart in the 200-meter dash in 27.7; and the 4x200-meter relay team of Brayden Fitzgerald-Deener, Marks, Edmonds and Hart in 1:56.7.
Second place efforts for A-J were recorded by Hess in the discus with 87-0; Osman in the high jump in 4-10; the 4x800-meter relay team of Olivia Bowen, Sedona Isaccs, Clohie Powell and Sydnie Ralls in 12:26; the 4x100 meter relay team of Hart, Osman, Lasley and Edmonds in 54.06 and the 4x400-meter relay team of Fitzgerald-Deener, Edmonds, Marks and Helm in 4:38.
Third place efforts for A-J were recorded by Clements and Ana Markovic with a tie in the high jump at 4-8; Marks in the triple jump in 30-11; Helm in the 100-meter dash in 12.9; Denny in the 300-meter hurdles in 54.1 and Bowen in the 1600-meter run in 6:57.
Fourth place efforts were recorded by Jacee Woodward in the shot put with 28-4; Marks in the long jump with 13-10; Lasley in the 400-meter run in 1:09.5 and Clements in the 300-meter hurdles in 55.8.
Fifth place efforts were recorded by Lexi Lingle in the discus with 74-0; the 4x100-meter relay team of Emma Tweedy, Hart, Ana Markovic and Grace Girtman in 57.8; Julia Hall in the 1600-meter run in 7:14; the 4x400-meter relay team of Ralls, Girtman, Carrola Ghiani and Hart in 5:17.
Second at Du Quoin
A-J finished in second place with 134 points at the Du Quoin Coed-Open Meet on Tuesday, April 2. Du Quoin won with 226 points.
First place efforts for A-J were recorded by Lasley in the pole vault with 10-06 and Hess in the shot put with 32-05 effort.
Second place efforts for A-J were recorded by the 4x400-meter relay team of Fizgerald-Deener, Lasley, Edmonds and Marks in 4:41.21; Osman in the triple jump with 31-09 and the high jump in 4-10; the 4x200-meter relay team of Fitzgerald-Deener, Edmonds, Lasley and Helm in 1:55.72; Hart in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.46; the 4x800-meter relay team of Bowen, Powell, Ralls and Isaacs in 12:11.33; and the 4x100-meter relay team of Hart, Lasley, Fitzgerald-Deener and Helm in 53.96.
Fourth place efforts were recorded by Ralls in the 800-meter run in 2:57.33; Clements in the 300-meter hurdles in 56.32; Helm in the 200-meter dash in 28.58 and Marks in the triple jump with 30-08.
Fifth place efforts were recorded by Denny in the 100-meter hurdles in 19.02; Osman in the 100-meter dash in 14.09 and Bowen in the 800-meter run in 2:59.35.
