Junior Legion tournament scheduled

The Cobden American Legion Junior baseball team is scheduled to begin 25th District Tournament play at home Thursday, today, against Metropolis.

Cobden, the tournament’s No. 3 seed, is scheduled to play No. 4 Metropolis at 5:30 p.m.

Orient Express is the top seeded team and Marion is No. 2.

Other teams competing are Carterville, Goreville and Harrisburg.

After first round action, the tournament moves to Goreville.

If Cobden wins, it plays at 7:30 p.m. Friday, and with a loss game time is set for 11 a.m. Saturday.
