Cobden softball team on four-game winning streak
The Cobden High School softball team won a pair of games in recent action.
Cobden 3, Massac County 2: Megan Rhodes was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead the host Appleknockers to the win Tuesday, April 30.
Makenzie Howell was 1-for-2. Lily Britt was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Lauren Sweitzer was 1-for-3 with a double. Aubrey Fisher was 1-for-3.
Lexi Miller was the winning pitcher, allowing 8 hits to go with no walks or strikeouts.
Cobden 6, Crab Orchard 4: Howell was 3-for-3 with 2 doubles to lead visiting Cobden in the win Monday, April 29.
Sweitzer was 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs. Britt was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Abby Clover was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Fisher was 1-for-3.
Miller was the winning pitcher. She allowed 10 hits to go with a walk and 5 strikeouts.
With the victories, Cobden, 10-12, had compiled a four-game winning streak.
The Appleknockers play Thursday, today, at home against Johnston City.
