Cobden American Legion Junior team scores win

The host Cobden American Legion Junior baseball team defeated Metropolis 3-2 Sunday, July 10.
Dylan Duty and John Russell were each 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Cobden. Bayden Ditterline added an RBI.
Ditterline, Trevor Middleton and Russell pitched in the win.
Ditterline pitched 5 innings and allowed 5 hits to go with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. Middleton pitched 1 1/3 innings and didn’t allow a hit to go with no walks and a strikeout. Russell pitched 2/3 an inning and didn’t allow a hit.
Cobden, 7-6, is schedued to play in the 25th District American Legion Junior Tournament scheduled to begin Thursday, today. The pairings have yet to be announced.
