Appleknockers improve to 18-8 with recent wins

With two recent victories, the Cobden High School boys’ basketball team had won 13 of its last 15 games.

Cobden 67, Century 37: The host Appleknockers came on in the second half in the South Egyptian Conference homecoming game win over Century Friday, Feb. 1.

Noah Franklin scored 24 points to lead Cobden. Joe Brumleve added 16 points, Zane Nance 12, Dylan Lewey 5, Sipriano Zamora 3, Alex Remsey and Cody Weiseman 2 apiece and Landon Britt 1.

Cobden 60, Vienna 45: Franklin scored 19 points to lead visiting Cobden to the win Tuesday, Jan. 29.

Zane Nance added 14 points for the Appleknockers, followed by Lewey and Brumleve with 12 apiece, Chandler West 2 and Britt 1.

Cobden, 18-8 overall and 5-1 in the conference, is scheduled to play Friday at Egyptian and Saturday at Thompsonville. 

The Appleknockers are scheduled to play their Senior Night game against Crab Orchard on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
