South Egyptian Conference banquet held in Cobden

South Egyptian Conference student athletes were honored for their 2014-2015 accomplishments during a banquet which was held May 28 in Cobden.

The banquet was held at St. Joseph's Church parish hall in the Union County community.

Schools in the conference include Agape Christian, Century, Cobden, Dongola, Elverado, Egyptian, Joppa, Meridian and Shawnee.

Conference champions were saluted at the event. The champions include, by sport:

Volleyball: Cobden.

Boys' basketball: Meridian.

Girls' basketball: Meridian.

Baseball: Century, Cobden, Shawnee.

Softball: Cobden, Dongola, Elverado.

Century's Caden Hight was honored as the recipient of the Gene Dammerman Award.

Student athletes who earned all-conference recognition were honored at the banquet. Those who were honored included, by sport:

Boys' basketball: David Davis, Meridian; Davarae Edmonds, Meridian; Caden Hight, Century; Parker Flamm, Cobden; Kyle Cox, Dongola.

Girls' basketball: Hailey Kendall, Joppa; India Wade, Meridian; Sandra Hartline, Cobden; Cheyenne Abbadusky, Elverado; Drew McLane, Shawnee.

Softball: Paige Newfarmer, Elverado; Jordan Clark-Holcomb, Century; Keileigh Britt, Cobden; Britani Prescott, Elverado;  Courtney Rankin, Dongola; Karley Washer, Cobden; Josi Braden, Cobden; Abbey Livesay, Shawnee; Kylie Flores, Dongola.
