Shawnee opens with big win

Tyler Brant was 5-for-6 with 2 doubles, a home run and 6 RBIs to lead Shawnee to a 26-2 win over host Elverado in season-opening nonconference high school baseball action Friday, March 19.

Aaron Lambdin was 4-for-5 with a home run and 5 RBIs for the Redskins. Tyler Glidewell was 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.

Greg Smith and Glidewell pitched in the win, combining on a three-hitter.

Smith pitched 3 innings and allowed 2 hits to go with 5 strikeouts and no walks.

Glidewell pitched 2 innings and allowed a hit to go with 7 strikeouts and no walks.

Shawnee, 1-0, is scheduled to play Thursday, today, at Anna-Jonesboro.
