Shawnee High School wins third straight regional title

The Shawnee High School baseball team won its third straight regional championship last Saturday.
Shawnee defeated Meridian 10-0 to win a Class 1A regional title in a game played at Wolf Lake. Shawnee hosted the regional.
Clay Murphy picked up his 10th win of the season in pitching Shawnee to the championship.
Tyler Glidewell was 4-for-4 at the plate with 3 RBIs for the winners.
Murphy helped his own cause with 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Anthony Crane had 2 hits and 2 RBIs for the winners.
Shawnee’s Aaron Lambdin was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
With the victory, Shawnee improved to 19-6 and advanced to sectional play at Cobden.
Shawnee was scheduled to play Goreville Wednesday afternoon, May 27, in the sectional.
Opening round game
Shawnee opened regional play with a 17-0 victory over Egyptian Wednesday, May 20.
Tyler Glidewell pitched for the winners. Glidewell struck out 10 batters and allowed 1 hit in a five-inning game.
Shawnee scored 9 runs in the first inning.
Clay Murphy had a grand slam in the second to help Shawnee advance.
