Rita G. McHugh

<p class="p1">Rita G. McHugh, 56, of Cypress, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at 7:25 a.m. at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.</p><p class="p1">She was born on Feb. 27, 1959, in Jackson, Tennessee, the daughter of Fred Oliver Collins and Vesta Pearl Williams Criss.</p><p class="p1">She married Chris E. McHugh on Sept. 19, 1988, in Benton, Missouri. He survives.</p><p class="p1">Other survivors include a daughter, Angela and James Valentine of Lawton, Oklahoma; two stepsons,  Brent (Jackie) McHugh of Jackson, Missouri, and Brian (Mayra) McHugh of Marion; a brother, Gerald Collins of Medon, Tennessee; four sisters, Wanda Grady of Cedar Grove, Tennessee, Connie Cottner and Gwen Wilson, both of Jackson, Tennessee, and Tina Ozment of Lobelville, Tennessee; a stepsister, Sue Swingle of Annapolis, Maryland; many nieces and nephews; special friends Diane Terry, Heidi Stapleton and Michelle Goines; and her “chosen” parents, Bob and Sandy Richardson of Cypress.</p><p class="p1">In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her infant stepdaughter,  Angelic McHugh; her stepfather, Claude Criss; and her brother, Freddie Collins.</p><p class="p1">She was a homemaker.  She was of the Baptist faith and was saved at Faith Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee, in 2009.</p><p class="p1">She liked to spend time on the computer and socializing on Facebook.  She loved all of her dogs and her parrot Jimmy.</p><p class="p1">Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Jack Richardson officiated.
