Richard Lee Smith

Richard Lee Smith, 73, of Somerset, Kentucky, formerly of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015 at his son's home. He was born March 23, 1942 in Cache, Illinois, the son of Louis Melvin and Estella Gertrude (Wallace) Smith.

He is survived by his son, Tom (Tracey) Smith of Somerset, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Torie (Ryan) Carter, Tommie Smith and Alyson Smith; one great grandchild, Liam Brazil; one sister, Mary Alice Rheam of Brainerd, Minnesota ; three brothers, Wendell Smith of Texas, Kenny (Lois) Smith of Anna, and Bill (Janice) Smith of Goreville; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregory Smith; and sister and brother in law, Eula and Don Sheffer.

He was retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a life member of the Elks in Pell City Alabama.

Funeral services were at noon on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Dee Armes officiating. Interment was in the Kelley Cemetery in Cobden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
