Rev. Geneva May Cowell

<p class="p1">Rev. Geneva May Cowell, 91, of North Fork, California, and formerly of Murphysboro, died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at home with her two caretakers; her son, Richard; granddaughter, Bethany; and son, Dennis, by her side.</p><p class="p1">She was born on July 29, 1924, in Ina, the daughter of Rev. Raymond and Lille Barker Ackley. She was the youngest of five children.</p><p class="p1">She was of the Pentecostal faith, traveling in her younger years with her parents and Wilma Ackley in the ministry. She ministered in many churches across the United States.</p><p class="p1">She was a great musician, who played many instruments, including the accordion and the guitar. She was also a very gifted singer and had a beautiful voice. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed going on walks.</p><p class="p1">She is survived by her sons, Richard Cowell of North Fork, California, and Dennis (Wendy) Cowell of American Falls, Idaho; granddaughters Sierra and Bethany; grandsons Austin and Matthew; great-granddaughter Amy Ray; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.</p><p class="p1">She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Clyde Ackley and Herschell Ackley; and sisters, Inez Woodrick and Rev. Wilma Lentz.</p><p class="p1">Graveside inurnment for Rev. Geneva May Cowell was at Alto Pass Cemetery on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m. with the Rev.
