Rev. Dale G. Clemens
Rev. Dale G. Clemens, 78, of Collinsville, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at his home.
Rev. Clemens was head pastor at Meadow Hights Baptist Church in Collinsville for 27 years before retiring. He continued at Meadow Hights as associate pastor, working with seniors and counseling, and then most recently pastor emeritus following his retirement.
He had also been very active in the Illinois Baptist State Association, twice serving as president in the 1970s.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Tessie Clemens of Grand Tower.
Rev. Clemens is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ada Ann (Dillow) Clemens; his brother, Bill Clemens of St. Louis; his children, daughter Kimberly (Robert) Martin of Maryville and son Jeffrey (Jananne) Clemens of Maryville; seven grandchildren Peter Clemens, Matthew Martin, Caitlin Clemens, Andrew Martin, Emma Clemens, James Clemens and Zoe Clemens.
Memorials can be made to the Meadow Heights Baptist Church building fund, 1498 Vandalia, Collinsville, Ill. 62234. The building program was a long-time vision of Rev. Clemens.
Funeral services were at 7 p.m. Wednesdsay, Nov. 18, at Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville. The Revs. Jim Donahue, Don Dillow, Kenneth Hall and Don Sharp officiated.
Interment was in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
