Relay teams pace Jonesboro at Class S state track meet

The 7th grade 4x200 and 8th grade 4x200 meter relay teams finished in second place to lead Jonesboro’s efforts at the Class S state junior high school boys’ track meet at Salem Saturday, May 9.

Team members Zeb Goes-sman, Jacob Sadler, Logan Tweedy and Derreck Harvel finished in 1:47.55 in the 8th grade event.

Team members Derreck Harvel, Garret Nadeau, Tyler Vaughn and  Damien Reed finished in 1:50.89 in the 7th grade event.

Finishing in third place for Jonesboro was Goessman in the 8th grade 100-meter dash in 12.56. He also recorded a fifth place finish in the 200-meter dash in 26.96.

Harvel finished in fourth place in the 7th grade 100-meter dash in 13.27.

Sadler finished in sixth place in the long jump with 16-6.

Jonesboro finished in fourth place with 34 points.

Elverado won the state track meet with 48 points, followed by Selmaville 42.5 and Jonesboro 34.
