Sooooo...it's 1:09 in the p.m. on Monday...should have had this here thing done did last Thursday or Friday...

...sigh...

...since the deadline has come and gone, we shall, once again, share a few photographic images which were captured by yours truly during the past week or so...

...first up, about that bird...last Saturday afternoon, I happened to be on a stroll in my hometown when I spotted the dove (well, I think it's a dove) perched quite contentedly on a railing...

...hey, that would make a nifty photograph, the photographer in me thought...sure wish I had my camera...

...well, I headed back home as fast as I could, which ain't that fast no more...got my handy, dandy camera, and headed back to where the dove was dallying...

...lo, and behold, too, the bird was still there...

...and he (she?) didn't seem a bit concerned as I edged ever so close to shoot a picture...

...finally, after I had shot about half a dozen images...the bird decided she had had enough and flew away...perhaps to someplace quieter...

...about those spider webs...

...they showed up on our porch during the past week, and we've just left them alone...

...and to be honest with you, I find spider webs to be absolutely fascinating...just think about the work which goes into the creation of such a gem...

...we have been hoping that the spiders are eating mosquitoes for dinner...lots and lots and lots of mosquitoes, 'cause we've sure had lots and lots and lots of mosquitoes lately...

(...by the way, at this point, an odd notion flitted through my simple little mind: if one happened to misquote something that a mosquito said, would that be considered a mosquito misquoto?)

...at this point, don't you wish I'd stop using this three periods thing...(I know, technically that's a question...oh, well...)

...enough for now...

...oh, one last thing this week...happy, happy birthday to my sweetheart...today's actually the big day...

The spider which created this web appeared to be glowing in the dark. Perhaps it was endowed with special spider powers. Truth be told, the spider seemed to take on a bit of a green appearance when the flash on the camera tripped. Tripped, by the way, is fancy photography talk for went off.

This spider web, like the other one pictured on this page, was created on our front porch. We're hoping the spiders which created these masterpieces were consuming lots of blood-sucking mosquitoes.

No, this is not a spider. Nor, does this picture have anything to do with a spider. Just so you know, the bird just kind of sat there and allowed the photographer to take a bunch of pictures.
