Please read this...And to think. . .it was all seen on North Main Street

<p class="p1">Once again with many apologies to Mr. Geisel, or, as he is more famously known, Dr. Seuss. . .</p><p class="p1">. . .oh, the places I go,</p><p class="p1">sometimes in the rain, sometimes in the snow, </p><p class="p1">to look for some pictures, as you well know.</p><p class="p1">When the journey begins, and I go where I go,</p><p class="p1">the final destination is, well, I don't often know.</p><p class="p1">That's part of the fun, to see what might unfold,</p><p class="p1">without ever knowing, what story will be told.</p><p class="p1">And this will be a story that no one can beat. . .</p><p class="p1">about a journey in Jonesboro – the Union County seat.</p><p class="p1">Setting the stage, just so you know, along North Main Street, I did go.</p><p class="p1">As I made a turn, to go to the lefty,</p><p class="p1">I spotted a brown fur ball, one that was quite hefty.</p><p class="p1">It looked like a woodchuck, and it was on the prowl,</p><p class="p1">I think it was hungry – I could hear its stomach growl.</p><p class="p1">I left the hungry ground hog behind,</p><p class="p1">just to see what else I could find.</p><p class="p1">I headed to the picnic grounds, </p><p class="p1">where Lincoln met Douglas, way back when,</p><p class="p1">I visit the place often, and did so again.</p><p class="p1">Last time I went there, it was cold and snowing,</p><p class="p1">this time, it was much warmer, where I was going.</p><p class="p1">And just for you, there are some peek-tures,</p><p class="p1">of what I saw – all sorts of creatures.</p><p class="p1">Four turtles were sunning,  then they were done, </p><p class="p1">and that meant I saw only one.</p><p class="p1">An amphibian in the water, a frog or a toad,</p><p class="p1">maybe you can tell, 'cause I don't knowed.</p><p class="p1">Then there was a goose, maybe it was a gander,</p><p class="p1">a-paddling in the water, not far from his daughter.</p><p class="p1">So, there you have it, a story that no one can beat,</p><p class="p1">and to think that I saw it all – on an adventure along North Main Street.</p><p class="p2"> </p><p class="p2"> </p>
