Pineau, Reach, relay team pace A-J girls’ track team at sectional

<p class="p1">The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School girls’ track team placed in seven events in the Class 1A high school sectional meet at Fairfield Friday, May 15.</p><p class="p1">The top two finishers in each event or qualifying time advance to this weekend’s girls’ state track meet at Champaign.</p><p class="p1">First place finishers for the Lady Wildcats were Hannah Pineau in the discus with a toss of 101-6; Hannah Reach in the pole vault with a 10-6; and the 4x400-meter relay team of Penny Karsen, Jamie Hammond, Sylvia Girtman and Reach in 4:33.38.</p><p class="p1">Second place finishers also advancing for A-J are Kaitlin Holshouser in the 800-meter run in 2:41.07;  Hammond in the high jump with 5-0; and the 4 x100-meter relay team of Bea Taylor, Reach, Megan Dammerman and Haley Inman with 54.50; and the 4x800-meter relay team of Holshouser, Clair Boget, McKenzi Boget and Karsen in 11:16.04.</p><p class="p1">Third place efforts for the Lady Wildcats were recorded by Karsen in the 400-meter dash in 1:07.42 and Hammond in the triple jump with 32-6.</p><p class="p1">Fourth place efforts for A-J were posted by Pineau in the shot put with 33-6; McKenzi Boget in the 1600-meter run in 6:26.82; Girtman in the long jump with 15-2; and the 4x200-meter relay team of Taylor, Bailey Stearns, Dammerman and Aleah Delgado in 2:01.18.</p><p class="p1">Fifth place efforts were recorded by Alivia Miller in the 300-meter hurdles in 56.79 and Reach in the long jump with 14-7.</p><p class="p1">Sixth place effort were tallied by Inman in the 200-meter dash in 30.26 and 100-meter dash in 13.94 and Miller in the  100-meter hurdles in 19.0.</p><p class="p1">Christopher won the sectional with 147 points and A-J was second with 99.</p>
