Pauline Whitacre

Pauline Whitacre, 98, of Asheville, North Carolina, and formerly of Jonesboro, died Monday, July 20, 2009 at 12:15 p.m. in the Brooks–Howell Home in Asheville.  

She was born on November 19, 1910, in Jackson County, IL, the daughter of Daniel and Lois (Jones) Whitacre. She was a Deaconess in the Methodist Church and lived and worked in many areas of the country.

Survivors include two nieces, Joyce Kwapien and Susan Collard; a nephew, Michael Collard; other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services for Pauline will be conducted on Monday, July 27, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale with the Rev. Robert Fear officiating.  Interment will follow at the Oakland Cemetery.

Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
