Paul E. Groves

Paul E. Groves, 86, of Anna, died at 10:52 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2015 in the Illinois Veteran's Home in Anna. He was born Jan. 18, 1929 in Wolf Lake, the son of Fred and Stella (Wilson) Groves. He married Patricia Ann Thorne on Feb. 7, 1952 in Anna. She preceded him in death on April 23, 2014.

He is survived by his two sons, Micheal Paul Groves of Morris, Illinois, Patrick Jay Groves of Cordova, Tennessee; one daughter, Paula Marie Jones of Anna; seven grandchildren, Christopher Groves, Katie Groves, Kristie Williams, Alicia Groves, Peter Groves, Sara Groves, and David Groves; two great-grandchildren, Trinity Beckmann and Patricia Williams; three sisters, Mary Ballance of Wolf Lake, Lois Scholtz of Virginia, and JoAnn Arndrake of Utah; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Patricia Ann Groves; one grandchild, Steven Groves; and one sister, Betty Plott.

He was retired from Catepillar after working many years as a machinist. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Paul was a member of the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna.

Services will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
