Patrick Glenn Harward

Mr. Patrick Glenn Harward, age 78 of Cobden, formally of Chicago, IL, died at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in the V.A. Community Living Center in Marion. He was born January 14, 1935 to Richard and Dorothy Siebold Harward. He married Sharon A. Brothers on October 1, 1977.

         Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sharon A. Harward of Cobden; five daughters, Kathleen M. Harward of Houston, TX, Joyce E. Harward of Harwood Heights, IL, Janet S. Woods of Chicago, IL, Sandra G. (Shelby) Howard of Dallas, TX, Joette L. (Timothy) Cochran of Monroe, WA; two grandchildren, Michael G. Woods of Huntley, IL, two great grandchildren, Anthony and Mia Woods of Huntley; brother in Law, William S. (Joanie) of Creston, OH; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brother in laws, Robert, James, and Tommy Brothers.

         A U.S. Navy veteran during the Korean War, he served four years in the Navy then served four years in the Navel Reserves and was honorably discharged in September of 1960.

         Patrick spent six years volunteering with SIRUS Radio at SIU in Carbondale, IL, recording tapes for the visually impaired.

Patrick was also well known as the voice of reason and one who made you feel at ease and welcome.

         Graveside memorial services for Mr. Patrick Glenn Harward will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 in the Jonesboro Cemetery with Pastor Kathy Montira officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Graveside military rites were conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team of Marion. Memorial contributions may be made to P.A.W.S. in Anna. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
