Yvonne Wagner

Yvonne Wagner, 86, of Cape Girardeau, died at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

She was born on July 9, 1936, in Alto Pass, the daughter of Vero Roy and Elva Hale Guthrie.

She worked in childcare for most of her life, most notably at Kindercare in Cape Girardeau and also at Just Kids Childcare in Cape Girardeau. She enjoyed gardening, reading and bird watching. 

She is survived by a son, Jeff (Teresa) Rogers; a daughter, Melissa (Kenneth) Eakens; grandchildren Bethany (Thomas) Meyer, Caleb (Rebecca) Tate, Dr. Travis Rogers, Sara (Cody) Poole and Erin Eakens; four great-grandchildren; sisters June Guthrie, Ellen Belt and Angela Thorne; and a brother, Lendall Guthrie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Terri Tate; two brothers, Kendall Guthrie and Roger Guthrie; and a sister, Vivian Guthrie.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with Caleb Tate officiating.

Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Interment was in the Alto Pass Cemetery.
