William ‘Bill’ F. Witthoft Jr.

William “Bill” F. Witthoft Jr., 87, of Anna, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at Mercy Southeast in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on Nov. 14, 1936, in Campbell Hill, the son of William F. and Mary Brenneman Witthoft. 

He married Delores Smith on March 16, 1963. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2010.

He is survived by his loving companion of many years, Judy Guthrie of Anna; her children, Mary Jane (Noble) White of Buncombe, Terri (Danny) Stewart of Reedsburg, Wis., and Jim Prater of Buncombe; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers Jim Witthoft of Campbell Hill, Roy (Jackie) Witthoft of The Villages, Fla., Don (Andrea) Witthoft of Anna and Wayne (Cynthia) Witthoft of Cape Girardeau; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and five brothers, John, Joseph, Bob, Tom and Dale Witthoft. 

Mr. Witthoft spent his working career as a truck driver. He worked for E.T. Simonds for over 30 years. He never met a stranger and he always was up for conversation with anyone.

Funeral services for William “Bill” F. Witthoft Jr. were at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden, with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment was in the Cobden Cemetery.
