Wendel Dean Davis
Wendel Dean Davis, age 84, of Anna, passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026 surrounded by his family.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1941 to Wendel and Wilhelma (Pearce) Davis in Johnson County, Ill.
Wendel worked for many years as a carpet installer and then worked at Choate Mental Health, and following retirement, worked at his true love, farming.
He was an active member of Gospel Assembly Church in Anna. He visited and cared for his fellow worshippers. Wendel never met a stranger and was there for anyone who needed him and never expected anything in return.
Survivors include his wife, Georgena Davis; three children, Jerry (Demetria) Davis, Bonnita (Stan) Penrod, and Tina (Bob) Carter; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and father-in-law, Fred Pitts.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Booth; and mother-in-law, Barbara Pitts.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 5 p.m. with Rev. Brandon Reynolds officiating at Crain Funeral Home Anna with the conclusion of services to follow. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral Home.
A Private Interment will be held at Ebenezer Hall Cemetery in Lick Creek, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to Ebenezer Hall Cemetery and/or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
