Violet Crain

Violet Crain, 93, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, April 25, 2021, at the home of her son in Chillicothe, Mo. 

She was born on Oct. 14, 1927, in Asherville, Mo., the daughter of Louie and Gussie Hodge. 

She married Loyd Crain on May 15, 1943, in Puxico, Mo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 2000.

She is survived by her children, Judy Rhodes of Eagar, Ariz., Jim Crain of Cape Girardeau and Steve (Debbie) Crain of Chillicothe, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Sam Rhodes, Sheryl Aquino, Andra Alexander, Chrissy Wilferth, Meredith Ogburn, Carissa Crain and Erin Crain; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son-in-law, Larry Rhodes; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Crain; and three brothers and three sisters.

Graveside funeral services for Violet Crain will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 30, at the Alto Pass Cemetery. Family and friends can gather from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow.
