Tony Gowin
Tony Gowin, 65, of McClure, and formerly of Olive Branch, died Monday, June 5, 2017, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born on March 22, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Terrence Kaye and Gladys June Simpkins Gowin.
He married Donna Toler on Oct. 27, 1972.
He served his country in the U.S. Army for 20 years. He worked for Procter and Gamble for 17 years in Cape Girardeau. He loved his granddaughter very much and was a very caring and loving person. He would help a stranger if they were in need.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Gowin of McClure; daughter Laura (David) Ruebel of Chaffee, Mo.; granddaughter Skylar Ruebel of Chaffee, Mo.; brothers Tim Gowin of Thailand and Tom Gowin of Olive Branch; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother Pauline Gowin.
Funeral services for Tony Gowin will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms. Interment will follow in Mound City National Cemetery, with full military honors conducted by the Illinois honor guard and American Legion Post No. 178. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
