Thomas Lewis Gonzalez

Thomas Lewis Gonzalez, 46, of Jonesboro, died Saturday evening, April 6, 2019, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on March 31, 1973, in Elgin, the son of Marilyn Sue Henson Leach and Jaime A. Gonzalez.  

He married Terri Faulkner on May 23, 2015. 

He worked for Republic Services out of Marion. He was loved by his family and blessed with many friends. He loved to fish, go 4-wheeling, help others and to make people smile.  He enjoyed life. He was a Christian and recently had accepted Christ into his life.

He is survived by his mother and father, Marilyn Sue Leach of Anna and Jaime Gonzalez of Elgin; sisters Karen (Baggott) Lewis of Anna and Rita Gonzalez of Elgin; his wife, Terri Gonzalez, and daughter, Abby Simmons, both of Herrin; aunts and uncles Elice (Jerry) Lowe of California, Loretta (Roy) Money of Tennessee, Carroll (Donna) Henson of Dongola, Vern (Barbara) Henson of Boles, Tressa Halterman of Tennessee and Roger Hartline of Anna; many cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and Lewis Schnake and Vern and Margie Henson; a brother, Jamie Gonzalez Jr.; a sister, Tammy Sue Baggott; aunts Louise Mobley and Melba Mixen; nephews Johnny Allen Roach and Jeremy Greuter; and cousins, Larry Lee Henson and Johnny Loveless.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro. Interment was in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Wetaug.
