Terrell Adkins
Terrell Adkins, 84, of Ullin, died at 9:37 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, at his residence.
He was born on July 19, 1939, in Ullin, the son of John T. and Beatrice Rainwater Adkins.
On Nov. 7, 1964, he married the love of his life, Linda Flowers. They spent 43 years together, united in love, until her passing in 2018.
Mr. Adkins worked in the construction business as a heavy equipment operator and loved his job that he spent nearly 50 years doing. He was a member of the Local 318 of the Operating Engineers Union. He also farmed.
He was a very active member of the community, in particular with regards to working on the Ullin Fire Department for many years and he served as fire chief.
In his spare time, he loved spending time with his family and watching “Ancient Aliens.”
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ullin, which he helped build, and was the official bell ringer while his health permitted.
He is survived by his daughters, Renee Wright and Misty Adkins; four grandchildren, Alexa, Cierra, Dawson and Davine; one great-grandchild, CJ; a brother, Miles (Carolyn) Adkins; nieces and nephews Taylor, Ali, Eric, Andy and Sharon; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ferban Short and Shirley Law.
Funeral services were at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, with the Rev. Clint Nale officiating.
Private inurnment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mounds.
