Tanya D. Sams

Tanya D. Sams, 51, of Olive Branch, died Friday, April 5, 2024, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on Feb. 2, 1973, in Marion, the daughter of Marion to Billy and Ann Johnson Spraggs.  

She married Ronnie D. Sams on Aug. 25, 1988. He survives.

She had been housekeeping manager at hotels in Cape Girardeau. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being outdoors and with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Ronnie D. Sams; daughter Samantha Johnson; sons Michael (Aliesha) Sams and Josh Sams (Jessica Crane); grandchildren Liam Johnson, Brantley Sams, Drake Sams and Zayden Johnson; brothers Roger Barnes, Billy Spraggs, Alonzo Spraggs, and Travis Spraggs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Steven Barnes; and a sister, Patricia “Patty” Herera.

Visitation was from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
