Suzie Goines

Suzie Goines, 72, of Anna, and formerly of Wetaug, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, at her residence, with loved ones with her at her side.

She was born on July 17, 1951, in Anna, the daughter of Wilborn and Nina Gulley Goines.

She retired from the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna. She was a member of AFSCME Local 141. She attended Wetaug Church of Christ. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchild and to them she will always be “Nanny.”

Survivors include her son, Chad (Kelsey) Goines; grandchildren Audrey, Ava, Alexis (Troy) Szablewski; great-grandchild Kinslee; sisters Pat (Larry) Shaffer and Jody (Donnie) Duckworth; a brother, Brad (Tori) Goines; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and special cousin Diane Frocht.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Roger Goines and Eddie Goines; and an infant son, Matthew. 

Private family services and burial took place at Christian Chapel Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Christian Chapel Cemetery.
