Stuart ‘Stu’ Miller
Stuart “Stu” Miller, 72, of Grand Chain, died at 6:23 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born on Nov. 14, 1952, in Cairo.
He was a beloved husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dianna Wright; two daughters, Stephanie (Gary) DeBose and Melissa Parker (Grayson Gile); five grandchildren, Mariah (Austin) Robbins, Zachary Ledbetter (Emily Hailey), Mackenzie Parker (Dustin Barnett), Kristopher Parker (Madison) and Gavin Gile; and six great-grandchildren, Brantley Robbins, Colt Robbins, Everette Robbins, Ryan Ledbetter, Dawson Barnett and Zella Parker.
Stu was a Pap to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellery A. and Geraldine Mann Miller; and brother David Miller.
Stu, as he was known by many, worked at the Vienna Correctional Center until retirement after 29 years. Stu had also worked at Hale Implement in Grand Chain and at Earnhart Farms near Perks. He loved to fish and have breakfast with his buddies from the prison.
He was a member of the Living Hope Fellowship Church and enjoyed having men’s breakfast with the guys at Caledonia Church.
Graveside funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Stuart “Stu” Miller will be private family only at the Masonic Cemetery in Grand Chain. Pastor Kevin Badgley will be officiating.
There was a public visitation Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Ledbetter, Khristopher Parker, Gavin Gile, Dustin Barnett, Austin Marshall and Austin Robbins.
