Stella Mae Plott
Stella Mae Plott, 72, of Anna, died Friday, March 7, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1952, in Lick Creek, the daughter of Jesse Marion and Grace Louise (Walker) Johns. She married Rodney Plott on Oct. 4, 1969, in Waynesville, N.C.
Stella is survived by her husband Rodney of Anna; children, Kimberly Rae (Mike) Bird, Eric Leon (Amy) Plott and Aaron Matthew Plott, all of Anna and Ryan Nathaniel Plott of Dongola; grandchildren, John (Trinity) Bird, Logan Bird, Austin Plott, Wyatt Bird, Adalyn Plott, Payton Plott, Shelby Bird, Ryder Plott, Raelyn Plott, Gracestyn Plott, Knox Plott, Gannyn Wiley, Aryana Williams and Brantley Williams; Stella was looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda (Gary) Faire of Jonesboro and Sheila (Edward) Plott of Anna; brothers, Jesse (Kim) Johns of Clinton and Lonnie (Linda) Johns of Wolf Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends, including Scarlett Tarpley, Mary Casey, Debbie Cross, Sam Teague and Stacey Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marion Parmly, Pamla Johns, Maxine Brimm and Patsy Evans and brothers, Raymond, Ralph and Mark Johns.
Stella was of the Pentecost faith. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
At a young age, she was a caregiver for the elderly before becoming the bus driver for RAVE, Inc. Afterwards, she worked at the Florsheim Shoe Factory until it closed. She then moved to H & R Block before retiring from Choate Mental Health and Development Center after many years of service.
Stella enjoyed bowling, arts, crafts, puzzles and reading. She loved her family and was always their number one fan, attending all their sporting events and activities. Her presence will undoubtedly be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Funeral services for Stella Mae Plott will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Danny Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in Big Creek Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home.
