Sondra Rochelle Clover
Sondra Rochelle Clover, 78, went home to be with Jesus on March 11, 2023.
She was born in Anna, on April 18, 1944, the daughter of Wayne “Kate” and Ivory Wilson Wright. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece and friend to many.
She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1962. She had a successful career serving as the clerk/treasurer for the City of Grand Tower and the Village of East Cape Girardeau for a combined 40 years. She also served as a medical records clerk for Shawnee Health Service for 25 years. She treasured the relationships she built during her career.
She married her sweetheart, Mike Clover, on July 15, 1967, at Ware Methodist Church. They were blessed with their girls: Becky (Terry) Glodo of East Cape Girardeau, Shelly Clover-Hill of Anna and granddaughter Katelyn (Will) Bode of Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her daughters and granddaughter; sisters Sharon (Merv) Smith of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Beverly (Jerry) Ellis of Grand Tower, Vicki Wilson of Jonesboro, Debbie Wright of Cobden and Audrey Wright and Karen Wright, both of Jonesboro; brothers Jim Wright of Jonesboro and Richard (Wilma) Wright of Dexter, Mo.; in-laws Bernard (Debi) Clover of Killeen, Texas, John (Cheryl) Clover of Carterville and Linda Diesen of King George, Va.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; son-in-law Jeff Hill; father and mother-in-law Harvey and Essie Clover; sisters Barb (Morris) Foster, Lois (Lester) Dickerson and Ruth (Harry) Allen; brother Bill Wright; in-laws Ralph and Sharon Clover, Richard Clover and Larry Diesen.
She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Her favorites included road trips, St. Louis Cardinals ballgames and family vacations to the beach. Those close to Sondra knew she loved to have fun which resulted in countless practical jokes and endless laughter. To know Sondra was to love her.
She loved the Lord and came to know him early in her life, she instilled her Christian values in her family and gave them the assurance she was ready to go home to be with Jesus.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, today, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Bobby Henson officiating. Interment will be at Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower.
Pallbearers will be Terry Glodo, Will Bode, Arthur Ward, Richard Wright, Jim Wright, Dale Foster and Kenny Allen.
Memorials can be made to Walker Hill Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
