Robert M. ‘Bob’ Hansil
Robert M. “Bob” Hansil, 66, of rural Dongola (the Wetaug community) passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at 11:29 p.m. at his home.
He was born on Sept. 17, 1958, in Greenville, S.C. He was the son of Jewell Joseph Hansil and Mary Anita Baumheuter Hansil.
On Sept. 11, 1981, he was united in marriage to Teresa L. Wright in Dongola. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann (Cody Heern) Hansil of Jonesboro; a son, Raymond Joseph (Sarah Agne) Hansil of Jonesboro; grandchildren Austin Klasner, Kiersten (Dalton Gore) Wright, Megan Wright, Bryan Wright, Alexis Hansil, Jenifer Hansil, Hartley Hansil and Trinity Tellor; a great-grandson, Jaxon Gore; a brother, Raymond (Donna) Hansil of Valrico, Fla.; as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin infant granddaughters Paisley and Teagan Hansil; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Paula Hansil; nieces and nephews.
Throughout his working career, he installed and painted radio towers, as well as painting water towers. He was also a very talented automotive mechanic.
He was an amateur (Ham) radio enthusiast. His call sign was KB9MQH. He spent many hours on the radio “scouring the planet for intelligent life.” He also enjoyed automobile racing.
A private service honoring the life of Bob Hansil was held Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 5:30 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Enloe Clemmons officiated.
