Robert Dennis Brown

Robert Dennis Brown, 50, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and formerly of McClure, died Saturday, May 25, 2024, on Prince Edward Island, Canada.

He was born on March 28, 1974, in Cape Girardeau the son of Dale and Betty Kiehne Brown.  

He graduated from Shawnee High School in Wolf Lake in 1992. He attended Shawnee Community College and Southern Illinois University Carbondale. 

He worked in the field of engineering most of his career and was currently employed as a supply chain manager at EastPoint Engineering/Sustane Tech.

On Dec. 21, 2004, he married Julia Cairns of Prince Edward Island, NS.  They lived in Alexandria, Va., for a time before settling in Halifax, NS.  They loved to spend their time cooking, golfing and boating, as well as spending time with their dog, Floki.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Brown; his father-in-law, Harold Cairns; grandparents Donner and Etta Brown and Paul and Helen Kiehne.

He is survived by his wife, Julia; his mother, Betty; a brother, Steve (Renee) Brown; a sister, Paula (Brad) Beal; a brother-in-law, Michael (Anne) Cairns; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Cairns; his mother-in-law, Nancy Cairns; nieces Tayler (Jeremy) Fazil and Reagan (Jake) Day; nephews Zach (Tayla) Beal and William and Patrick Cairns; great-nephews Eli Fazil and Brooks Beal; and a great-niece, Sophia Fazil.

A service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to Lindsey Cemetery, 34422 Grapevine Trail, McClure, Ill.  62957.
