Reed ‘Chip’ Arrott Jr.

Reed “Chip” Arrott Jr., 69, of Batavia, and formerly of Dongola, died at 7:21 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Accent Care Hospice in Naperville, after a brave fight with cancer.

He was born on June 13, 1953, the son of Reed and Dorothy Arrott. 

He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in accounting and worked as a certified public accountant until he retired. Mr. Arrott was a member of the Geneva United Methodist Church in Geneva.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Dexter); one son, Reed T. Arrott III; one daughter, Meagan K. Mueller; a son-in-law, Lance Mueller; and a granddaughter, Clara. 

He was preceded in death by his mother and by his beloved Dachshund, Otto.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, today at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, today, at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin.

Interment will follow the funeral services at St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola, Illinois.

Memorials can be made to Wings of Rescue, a donation-based charity which is dedicated to saving pets. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
